• GENERAL USE DIRECTIONS
  Plants in Place: Use one tablespoon (1 oz) per plant and mix into the top 1-3" of the soil. Water thoroughly, and regularly thereafter. The best time to apply is between March-May, after having cut back your roses and flowering shrubs.

  
  

  During Planting: Make a hole in the soil and loosen the soil. Mix one tablespoon (1 oz) per plant and mix into the soil. Place the root ball of the rose in the middle of the hole, replace soil around the roots, and water intensively. If preferred, granules may be used 14 days after planting following the 'Plants in Place' instructions above.

• Should I chose the liquid rose fertilizer or the granular slow-release formula for my roses?

  Both products contain the nutrients your rose plants need, with an added boost of Potassium to strengthen the rose canes and produce big, vibrant roses. The answer to what type of fertilizer you should use depends on what type of gardener you are. If you you are a casual gardener, that enjoys the beauty of roses, but not the added maintenance and time, than the granular Algoplus Roses & flowering shrubs is for you. If you are a dedidicated gardener that realizes roses are heavy feeders that require nutrients regularly to produce the best, healthiest plant, you will want to have both the granular product for an application in Spring as well as the liquid fertilizer for weekly to bi-weekly application through November.

  How often should I fertilize with liquid Algoplus fertilizers?

  Using liquid Algoplus fertilizers at every watering is recommended. We suggest at least twice per week or when it is dry an inch into the soil.

  Can I use Algoplus on my organic garden?

  Yes! Algoplus fertilizers can be used in your organic garden. Fertilizers are natural-born nutrients that plants can digest: "plant food." Fertilizers are not toxic. The main nutrients in most fertilizers - nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium - are naturally found on the land and in the air. In fact, these nutrients in fertilizers are the same as those in foods we eat and in our bodies. In addition to the basic natural ingredients, Algoplus is 100% mineral based, with NO harmful chemicals, NO environmental impact, and even NO color or odor!

  What does NPK mean?

  NPK stands for Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P) and Potassium (K). Each number represents the total percentage of weight of each fertilizer as packaged. Nitrogen is important to stimulate growth rate and to "green up" the foliage so that it can process nutrients more efficiently. Phosphorus stimulates rapid root growth. Potassium, stimulates flowering and fruiting.

  What is the difference between the plant specific formulations?

  Each specific plants needs differ from that of other plants depending on many factors including flowering, fruiting, root type as well as many other considerations. Plants can survive with only water, carbon dioxide and sunlight, but they also need minerals to grow and thrive. Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium (N-P-K) represent the percentage of nutrients contained in the fertilizer and is designed to meet the specific plants nutrient needs.

  Why is Algoplus's NPK formulation lower than other commercial fertilizers?

  Excessive nutrients can cause the roots and plants to burn up as the roots assimilate the nutrients. Algoplus only uses the purest nutrients, balanced perfectly to allow the plant to absorb all the salts (N-P-K) in sufficient quantities, without any risk of blocking or burning its roots.
