QUESTION:
Is ALGOplus Fertilizer organic?
ANSWER:

ALGOplus fertilizers are not certified organic by the USDA but our ingredients are extracted from naturally occurring minerals.

What does this mean? There can be quite a bit of confusion of the term organic when applied to fertilizers and gardening techniques. The problem is related to corporate marketing terms with little meaning coupled with label requirements for USDA Organic Standards.

True organic fertilizers are minimally processed plant or animal sources such as manure, human waste (biosolids), or compost. The nutrients remain bound in their natural forms rather than being extracted. Organic fertilizer nutrients are slowly released over a period of days to months since it takes time to break down the nutrients in order for the plant to digest it. As organic fertilizers break down, they improve the structure of the soil and increase its ability to hold water and nutrients. These types of fertilizers act as soil conditioners, improving the health and productivity of soil and encouraging plant growth

Conventional fertilizers are typically derived from either naturally occurring minerals, air, or ocean deposits by an extraction method or they are synthetically produced. Organic or natural commercially available fertilizers are made from plant and animal sources, or from rock/mineral powders. Proper pH balance ensures the nutrients in these fertilizers are readily available for immediate plant digestion.

When properly used, both types of fertilizing are healthy and can be useful depending on the needs of your plants. This is because the nutrients are identical in organic and conventional fertilizers.

Organic gardening, also known as biologically balanced gardening, cultivates an ecofriendly environment by enriching soil, plants and beneficial insects by limiting, preferrably avoiding the use of pesticides and only using products that nurture your garden soil and organisms in it.

Organic gardening is no longer a fad. Everyone wants the food we eat and serve our families to be safe and healthy. Here at ALGOplus, we support organic gardening with all of our products and gardening tips to help you acheive the best possible garden for you and your family.

QUESTION:
What is the difference between the plant specific formulations?
ANSWER:

Each specific plants needs differ from that of other plants depending on many factors including flowering, fruiting, root type as well as many other considerations. Plants can survive with only water, carbon dioxide and sunlight, but they also need minerals to grow and thrive. Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium (N-P-K) represent the percentage of nutrients contained in the fertilizer and is designed to meet the specific plants nutrient needs.

Nitrogen is important to stimulate growth rate and to "green up" the foliage so that it can process nutrients more efficiently. Phosphorus, the middle number, stimulates root growth. And Potassium, the last number, stimulates flowering and fruiting.

For example, the Algoplus Tomato formula has a NPK ratio of 4N - 6P - 8K. The higher Phosphate (K) encourages the blooming and fruition of the tomatoes for better yields from your garden. While Algoplus's Houseplant formulation of 6N - 5P - 6K discourages abundant root growth, which can cause potted plants to get root bound.

Choosing the right formulation and properly following the feeding instructions can make the difference between a successful, healthy plant, or quite potentially causing more harm than good. At Algoplus, we have a variety of formulations available to meet your plants needs with easy mixing formulas to get bigger, better, healthier blooms and yields.

QUESTION:
Why is Algoplus's NPK formulation lower than other commercial fertilizers?
ANSWER:

The NPK value in our fertilizers provide the exact amount plants use... no more, no less. This means that ALL the nutrients in ALGOplus are absorbed by the plants root system and no nutrients remain in the soil.

Excessive nutrients than necessary can cause the remaining nutrients to remain in the soil, causing the roots to burn. Algoplus provides exactly what is needed by the plant in order for it to grow in the best possible conditions. Algoplus only uses the purest nutrients, balanced perfectly to allow the plant to absorb all the nutrients in sufficient quantities, without any risk of blocking or burning its roots.

QUESTION:
Can Algoplus fertilizers be used in my organic garden?
ANSWER:
